Who, how, what: host family & philosophy

A look behind the scenes

In 1998, we launched a competition to find a name for our restaurant and pizzeria.
Lorenz Fischnaller from Tiso came up with the best idea.
So, from then on we've gone by the name of "Viel Nois".

Franz

Franz

The backbone of our hotel, our "finance minister" and hiking expert

We'll let you into a secret: this early bird that everyone talks about goes by the name of Franz.
While most people are still fast asleep, he's up and taking care of breakfast preparations at our Pensione Raschötzhof. He spends his afternoons in the Viel Nois office, sorting out the paperwork and trying to balance the books. Strictly between ourselves, Franz doesn't like taking it easy even when he's on holiday. That's why he really enjoys giving our guests advice about the best places to go hiking. And he sometimes abandons his paperwork and ventures outside with the others ...

Erna

Erna

The friendly mistress of the house, Franz's better half and a loving mother

She lights up our lives, even in the darkest of times: not only is she always happy to chat, she's also an excellent listener. She always has lots of good suggestions, and is a source of delightful proverbs and idioms. Also, she makes the best coffee in the world (with added love!), organises the delicious breakfast, and has an innate gift for interior design.

Michi

Michi

Dedicated host, handyman and party–lover

If anyone was born to be a hotelier, that must be Michi.
His motto is “Never say never!”, and for him every problem is just an opportunity.
With his catchy enthusiasm and boundless energy, he manages orders, takes care of administration, smokes our own speck, looks after thirsty guests and sometimes also shares a glass with them. Here's to friendship!

Steffi

Steffi

Workaholic, head of bookings, and an excellent listener

In April 2018, Steffi gave birth to little Leni, who has inherited all the best family genes and never fails to delight us with her friendly character. You can meet Steffi at the reception desk, where she manages the incoming bookings and where she'll give you a warm, friendly welcome. She sometimes also lends a hand in the evening, uncorking bottles for the guests and making sure no-one has an empty glass. Will Leni be like her mum when she grows up? Who knows ...

Viel Nois

villes nöes“ which comes from the Ladin and means "new houses, or villages".

viel noise“ is a play on words in English. Because there's always lots going on here.

nois“ is a South Tyrolean word, meaning "new things". It also implies abundance and variety.

Villnöss“ like Funes, the location of our wonderful hotel and your forthcoming holiday home.

„Behind the scenes at the Viel Nois there are some multi-faceted personalities. Friendly, cheerful, and deeply connected to our roots - these are the main characteristics of our family.
